OUR STORY

PERU MARKET

In 2004, Mercedes and Pedro Sánchez Alegre created the company PERU MARKET Export & Import in Lima with the aim of promoting, selling and exporting a selection of fine quality products made by artisans, micro-entrepreneurs, designers and goldsmiths from Peru.

The project was born from the love of art and ancient cultures and they merge the two in their work.

Mercedes started designing and promoting alpaca collections and jewellery with Inca inspiration using ancestral hand made techniques and the art of shaping the precious metal of the moon into beautiful creations.

After different commercial experiences,  Mercedes decided to create her brands AWANA ALPACA and Mercedes Lamborelle Jewels. She continue working with designs inspired by pre-Hispanic and Inca culture from Peru and now she prepares new creations, designs and drawings, expanding techniques and materials inspired by her last trips to Indochina, Mexico, Greece, Japan, France and England.

Mercedes creations have full of art, fashion and history. Her ethnographic and cultural vision is expressed throughout.

This is how this great adventure began, by designing the logo of a small exporting bird that would take the new treasures from Peru to Europe and Switzerland, where Mercedes has been living for thirty years.

Actually our products reach markets like Switzerland, France, Germany and Korea.

OUR TEAM

Our administrative team is based in Lima, Peru and for the hand made collections we work with women weavers and knitters specialists in Huancayo, Puno, Callejón de Huaylas and Lima. We continue working with the valuable support of the family in Peru who are in charge of the administration and quality control of the products.

TRADE & DEVELOPMENT

Trade has been a powerful engine of growth over the past 60 years, helping to lift millions of people out of poverty. Small brands in developing countries can grow their business through exports. With our brand we produce ethical fashion collections inspired by our traditions and textile culture by working with women weavers in Peru and developing skills and abilities to trade in Switzerland and new markets.

We want to be a brand designing new business opportunities for development.

The fashion world has a world of business opportunities!
